Wednesday, October 16th, 2013, 1:00 pmBOTOX® and injectable fillers such as and Dermal Fillers top the list of most popular non-surgical anti-aging treatments in Canada
So why are more and more individuals choosing cosmetics to enhance their appearance than ever before?
But what is the difference between BOTOX® and Dermal Fillers? What do I need?
BOTOX® is an injection of a purified protein with a very fine needle that targets areas such as crows feet, frown lines, forehead creases, and glabellar lines but can also be used to lift brows and uplift the corners of the mouth.
BOTOX® typically lasts approximately 3-4 months but results can linger longer with repeated treatments. BOTOX® works by inhibiting the ability for the muscle to contract thus creating a wrinkle.
Dermal Fillers is a hyaluronic acid that is injected in to areas such as nasolabial folds, which are the “parentheses lines” which extend from the outer edge of the nostrils to the corners of the mouth, marionette lines (below the corners of the mouth), the lips, the cheeks, the nose, and along the jawline. Dermal Fillers is best for restoring volume in the face that has been lost due to aging. There are currently a large variety of Dermal Fillers products that we used depending on what needs to be done. The effects vary from 8 months to 18 months and give a very natural result.
The amount of BOTOX® or Dermal Fillers you may need is completely different to each individual. The treatment provided to younger individuals for preventative maintenance is much less than to an individual who is older with very deep lines, loss of volume etc.
The best way to find out which treatment you need and how much you will need is to book your complimentary assessment with Dr. Skouras who will evaluate what is right for you and your needs and expectations. We believe in a natural appearance and well rested look rather than being overfilled, over botoxed.
